No sooner had centre-back Kevin Lokko signed for League Two Stevenage from Maidstone United on Tuesday is he now back in the National League with Dagenham and Redbridge.
The 21-year-old secured a move into the Football League just days before the new season but now finds himself at one of The Stones’ league rivals.
Lokko signed for Stevenage for an undisclosed fee and has now joined Dagenham on a season-long loan.
Maidstone were already struggling for central defenders before Lokko’s departure, and this will only rub salt into their wounds.
Lokko started his career as a youngster at Norwich City before moving to Colchester United following his release.
The defender spent a year with the U’s and a year with Welling United. He then signed for Maidstone, making 46 appearances last year and also earned his first England C cap.
