Hakan Heyrettin wasn’t happy with the referee or his defenders as Braintree slipped back into the relegation zone for the first time in months.
Yesterday’s late 2-1 defeat to Dover means the Iron are back into the bottom four.
The manager was quick to criticise the officials for sending off Craig Braham Barrett.
But he also had a jab the way they let in two goals. Heyrettin though didn’t say it was a bad performance from his players – but he knows they need to start winning again.
“It was never a sending off in a million years,” he said following the game against one of the sides looking to get into the playoffs.
“It made it very difficult for us. He got that wrong and didn’t have a good game.”
Heyrettin added: “But as a manager I have got to have a look at the two goals we let in and ask some questions.
“Our defenders haven’t done their jobs, it’s as simple as that.
“You can’t make basic mistakes at this level. We were punished. We actually controlled the game up until the sending off which naturally change everything.”
