Bromley’s manager Neil Smith has revealed the club’s new 3G pitch is already looking fantastic.
The Ravens are the latest club in the Vanarama National League to decide to replace their grass with an artificial surface.
Although Smith is keen to put together a side to tackle 3G and the real stuff, he knows their investment could be worthwhile.
Bromley fans will see the new pitch for themselves when Crystal Palace, the Premier League club, officially open it in a couple of weeks.
Then it’s the league opener where they welcome Richard Hill and his Eastleigh side.
Smith said: “It’s nearly done now, there’s no going back!
“It’s looking great and we can’t wait to get out there and train on it for the first time. There’s a buzz around the place.
“More and more Non-League clubs are going down this route so with a bit of luck we are getting closer to the Football League accepting it as well.
“We just want to get out there now and kick a ball around,” he added. “The benefits of it will be huge.”
On the Eastleigh opening fixture, Smith said: “Tough one, it’s a real tough one. They will be up there as one of the fancied sides again so we are going to need to be on our game.”
