Gateshead manager Neil Aspin knows he has signed a winner in Tom Beere after landing the midfielder on loan from AFC Wimbledon in League One.
He knows that before the midfielder didn’t just win promotion once last since, he won it twice!
Gatehead are the early kick-off today and their match with Chester is live on BT Sport.
Beere’s first taste of promotion came with Hampton when his loan spell there helped the club to lift the Ryman League Premier Division.
He then returned to Wimbledon. Not expecting to play a big part in their play-off bid he came off the bench to score in their semi final first game against Accrington.
It was a vital goal which eventually took AFC to Wembley where they beat Plymouth 2-0 in the final. He celebrated promotion to League One knowing his first leg win helped in a big way.
Aspin is happy to get his man. Gateshead have work to do if they are to get into the playoff places but Beere is a promotion specialist.
“It’s good to welcome Tom to the club and we hope he has a big impact,” the manager said.
