Shwan Jalal says enjoying his previous spell at Macclesfield Town meant re-joining was ‘a no-brainer’ for him.

The 33 year old goalkeeper returned to the Vanarama National League club after being at Wrexham at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Speaking to the club’s website, he said.

“I loved my time here previously and it is great to be able to come back.

“It’s been in the offing for some time now. I’ve been speaking to the manager and the chairman for a while and I am just glad to get it done.

“It was a no brainer to come back here. Like I said I made no secret that I loved it here. I had a lot of time for the fans and the manager, who I hugely respect, as well Steve Watson, Bill (Gorton) and the rest of the staff here.

“I’m delighted to finally sign and now I’m just looking forward to the start of the pre-season.”

Macclesfield will be hoping to complete more business in the next two weeks after nearly all of last season’s squad left.
