Former Player Takes Rovers Helm

Former Paulton Rovers goalkeeper John Rendell has been appointed as the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West club`s new manager.

He will be assisted by another former player, Paul Tovey.

Rendell was originally a product of Yate`s youth team who went on to play professionally at Cardiff City and later for several senior neighbouring non-League clubs, including Rovers, and has also managed at local level.

Chairman Dave Bissex said: “After interviewing a number of quality candidates from a large number of applicants, we are delighted to appoint John, who was assistant-manager at league rivals Yate Town last season. Both he and Paul know the club well from their playing days.

“They take up the reins with immediate effect”.
