Although Bridgwater Town have already been relegated from the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West, caretaker-manager Dave Pearse wants the job at Fairfax Park on a permanent basis.
The club have begun the process of appointing a new manager for next season after inviting applicants.
Pearse, who has been in charge for the last four games, said: “I will apply for it, potentially along with someone else as I would like to carry on playing.”
Bridgwater have lost their last fifteen matches and were confirmed as being relegated some time ago.
Phil Hucker was in charge until recently when he was sacked and Pearse given the manager’s job until the end of the season.
Bridgwater will go down into the Premier Division of the Toolstation Western League next season.
