Thorne Takes Mangotsfield Helm

Evo-Stik League South West club Mangotsfield United announced the appointment of Wayne Thorne as their new manager.

His backroom team includes David Seal, who is assistant-manager and Lee Collier as coach – all three are former Mangos players.

Thorne said: “As former players we know what a great club this is. We want to bring success back to to the club and create a great atmosphere and engage with everyone.”

Thorne was previously in charge of Larkhall Athletic.

He had been in charge of the Larks for almost six years, bringing great success to the Bath-based club, guiding them to the Toolstation Western League title in 2013/14.

Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers’ young Dutchman Thom Jonkerman has joined Mangotsfield.

The 19-year-old has agreed to join on a month`s loan.

He is a graduate from the NIKE Academy and trialled for Arsenal before joining Rovers.

He played for RKC, FC Utrecht and FC Dordrecht in his early years.
