Three for Badgers
Sam Andrew

....announced three further additions to his 2012/13 squad.

Putting pen-to-paper for the Badgers are Alton Rennalls, Fabian Smith and Sam Andrew.

Rennalls, 25, is a right-sided defender who lists Mansfield Town and Rushden & Diamonds amongst his former clubs.

He joins the Badgers from NPL First Division South side Belper Town, and Ramshaw describes him as "a big, strong and very quick defender who is comfortable on the ball." Smith, 27, is a midfielder previously with Scunthorpe United and Ilkeston Town.

Smith, whose last club was relegated Quorn, missed most of last season with an injury but is now fully fit and raring to go.

Said the Badgers' boss: "Fabian is a very competitive midfield player who has a great engine but at the same time is comfortable on the ball.

“If he can overcome his injury problems he will be a major player for us.

“Fabian will be one of the more experienced players in the squad which is something we need considering the youthful make-up of the current team." Goalkeeper Andrew, 19, was last year's Badgers young player of the year. He needs no introduction to the fans.

The former Leeds United and Sheffield United youngster had a stand out season for the club after joining in January and was top of Ramshaw's list of players to retain.

Ramshaw is delighted to have secured the signature of Andrew, despite fierce competition from a number of Conference clubs.

"In Sam and Ian Deakin we have two of the best keepers in the league. And it is going to be interesting to watch then battle it out for the number one shirt.

“People forget Deaks is only 25 himself so we now have two of the best goalkeeping prospects in non-League football at this club."
