The opening Saturday of the first ever Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division season saw six of the ten matches end in draws.

Thurlow Nunn League Round-Up....

Norwich United were the only side to win at home while Brantham Athletic, Gorleston and Dereham Town all secured away victories.

New signing Matt Dixon and George Wilson netted for the Planters in their 2-0 win over Hadleigh United, while Angelo Harrop and Michael Brothers put Brantham two up in their 2-1 success at Haverhill Rovers.

Dereham’s 2-0 win at Felixstowe & Walton United came after a goal in each half, with Shaun Bammant and Luke Hannant on the score sheet.

Gorleston had an impressive 2-1 victory at Mildenhall Town with former Lowestoft Town players Bradley Hough and Reece Hunn scoring their goals.

In the First Division both relegated teams, Newmarket Town and Great Yarmouth Town, gained three points.

The Jockeys beat Whitton United, while the other Suffolk Senior Cup finalists, Long Melford, lost 2-1 at home to the Bloaters.

Next Saturday the eight First Division teams not involved in the FA Cup begin their league campaigns.

Returning Saffron Walden Town are at home to Swaffham Town, while Braintree Town Reserves start at Brightlingsea Regent.
