New Management Team For Ashton & Backwell

Paul Wearing and Richard Ford have been appointed as the management team to take Toolstation Western League Division One club Ashton & Backwell United on for the 2017/18 campaign.

Both are no strangers to the club as Wearing has been former manager Rich Coombes’ assistant for the previous two seasons and Ford took up the role of first-team coach last season.

Both have a vast experience within the non-League circuit – Wearing has had successfully managerial spells at Bristol Inner City Football Academy and Bishop Sutton before he left Sutton to join Ashton & Backwell.

As mentioned, he has been with the club for the last couple of years which brings great knowledge of the current players at the club.

As for Ford, he will continue bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the football club and hopefully will continue to add to his massive contributions on and off the pitch.

Ashton & Backwell has been Ford’s first proper coaching/management role but has an extensive playing career including Nottingham Forest under Brian Clough, Yeovil Town, Forest Green Rovers and Clevedon Town.

The management team will look to continue to work with current crop of young hungry players currently at the club and look forward to building on the success over the last three years by Rich Coombes.
