....new players to bolster his squad alongside the players who have already committed their future to the club.
The trio all join from crisis league rivals Garforth Town which has seen a mass exodus of both playing and non-playing staff over the last couple of weeks.
Local lad Chris Walton, who is well known at the club after playing in the youth sections and for a short spell at the end of the 2008/09 season, is joined at Farsley by Adam Priestley.
Priestley is a striker who was spotted playing for Sherburn White Rose, who are members of the West Yorkshire League, joining Garforth Town after scoring prolifically for the amateur side.
The third player to join from the Genix Healthcare Stadium is centre back Rob Pacey who has had previous experience at Doncaster Rovers, AFC Telford United, Alfreton Town, Retford United, Ossett Town, Matlock Town, Goole AFC and Ossett Albion.
Parsley is delighted with his new additions and believes that each one of them can help to improve the Farsley squad: “They’ll bring a competitive edge to the players that we’ve already got and they’ll add competition. They’re all big, strong, physical boys.
“Chris Walton is well known to this club after playing here as a youngster after going away to play in various other places but did really well against us when he played for Garforth last year.
“We needed to strengthen central midfield and Chris will certainly bring that with his physical presence and his desire to play for this football club.
“Adam will give us pace up front, he’ll give us a bit of width and he’s got an eye for goal, again, like Chris, showing the desire to come and play here.
“Rob Pacey will give us competition between Jacko and Josh Radcliffe.
“We’ll have three centre backs, obviously only two will play, four central midfield players, only three will play and we’ve got competition up top, so things are shaping up well.”
Parsley believes there may be a few more new additions to the squad but negotiations are still on going, so details will be released later on in pre-season, should the deals go through.
“I’ve got my eye on another player but whether I sign him on, that will be a bit further into pre-season. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to nail that signature but we’ll see.
“Myself and Jacko have met with all the players and spoke with these new additions at various stages over the last two or three weeks and we’re pleased to have them on board.”
Meanwhile, the players retained from last season, along with the new additions, were joined by the more senior members of the Farsley Reserves/Leeds City College sides for the first pre-season training session.
Parsley believes that it’s important that these young players are given a chance during pre-season and expects that the majority of them will get the chance to play a part in some of the friendlies.
“They’ll do all pre-season with us because we see that as an important step of education as young players at this club.
“There will be opportunities for them in pre-season to show us what they can do but Jacko knows what they can do so there’s no pressure on them. They just need to come and enjoy themselves and get the physical aspects out of pre-season of what they need to do for the nine months ahead.”
