.....Scowcroft has agreed to join the coaching staff at Ram Meadow as first-team coach for the forthcoming season.
Due to Scowcroft’s media commitments he was not able to be considered for the post of assistant-manager but is pleased to be on board and assist with the coaching of the squad.
Scowcroft said: "I have spoken to Richard Wilkins and Trevor Collins regarding this role and it is one I am really looking forward to. Unfortunately I couldn't commit to the assistant's job as I wouldn't be able to attend all of the games. However, I will be working closely with the management and the playing squad during pre-season and throughout the season and will give as much support and advice as possible. I've always enjoyed my time with the club and I want to help in bringing promotion next season."
Meanwhile, club captain Tom Bullard has signed a new deal with the club, despite receiving a significant offer from another Ryman Premier club.
Bullard has put pen-to-paper on a new contract and is looking forward to the new season: "I am relieved and delighted to finally sort a new contract with Bury Town.
“I did receive a big financial offer from elsewhere but Bury is my club and I am proud to be the captain here. I just want to help drive the club forward to its promotional target next season and I know we are capable of achieving this."
Popular defender Mark Coulson has become the latest in a growing list of last season's squad to put pen-to-paper on a new deal to remain with the Blues.
Coulson was a regular in the starting line-up last season, and will be remembered for his winning goal in the Ryman League Cup final that saw the trophy head to Ram Meadow.
Collins said: "We are delighted to have Mark back with us for the new season. He was a very consistent player for us last season and has written himself into our history books with the winning League Cup final goal. We are now assembling a squad capable of going all the way this season, and Mark will be an important member of the squad.
"We will be adding some new faces to the squad over the next few weeks, and also announcing the new assistant manager who will begin working with Richard Wilkins and James Scowcroft ahead of the first pre-season friendly at Newmarket Town in just over a month`s time.
