Twenty in for Terrors Post
Kenny Brown

....begins its rebuilding process.

The Terrors ended a season to forget last Saturday as they were drubbed 7-1 at home by Bury Town to finish second bottom of the Ryman League Premier Division.

Despite Kenny Brown still being manager, the post has been advertised as the club, who endured a torrid year under the control of now departed chief executive Joe Sealey and director Ronnie Johnson, look to next season in Division One South. Brown, who replaced Mark Beard in December, is among those being considered for the position but it is understood he is unlikely to get it.

Former Croydon Athletic manager Dave Garland is believed to one of the leading candidates but a decision is not expected for another fortnight.

“We have got about twenty applications to go through,” said chairman Bill Hill.

“So, realistically, it will be another two weeks before we make a decision.

“We have a committee of Danny Lee, Nick Bolt and Nigel Wood going through the names and they will make a preliminary selection and then myself, owner Steve Adkins and the members club chairman will look at that list.

“Kenny is on the short list and he will go forward.

“I feel he has had a bit of a rough deal with the two guys that came in and dictated everything.”

Last Saturday’s defeat, in which Hassan Ibrahim scored Tooting’s goal, meant the Terrors ended the season conceding eighteen goals in their final three games and 116 in total in the league – an average of almost three a game.
