.....Dawkin and left-back Sam Habergham to his Iron squad at The Amlin Stadium.
Although born in England, Dawkin qualifies to play for Wales through his mother and has represented Wales at under-17 and 19 levels.
He made his professional debut for Norwich City in October 2009, against Gillingham in the Carling Cup and followed that up with his first full game in the victory at Swindon Town in the same competition.
Last season saw him push on with loan spells at both Kettering Town and Cambridge United, making a total of nineteen appearances for the two then Conference Premier clubs.
He switches to Braintree following his release from the Norfolk club this summer.
Devonshire was full of praise for his latest capture: "What I like about Josh is that he's comfortable in midfield, playing wide or up front. Like Sam, he has an excellent pedigree with Norwich and is hungry for success. With his pace, Josh gives us lots of options going forward."
Habergham switches from league rivals Tamworth.
The 20-year old started his career by making a number of appearances for Norwich`s under-18s during the 2007/08 season ahead of him becoming an Academy scholar in the summer of 2008.
Comfortable at either left-back or centre back, Habergham was awarded his first professional contract with the Canaries at the end of June 2009.
He spent a further two years at Carrow Road before switching to Tamworth last season, where he made thirty-five appearances for the Lambs.
Devonshire was delighted with his latest signing: "We had a good defensive unit last season and I believe Sam will fit in well with that. He impressed me last season when I saw him play for Tamworth and I'm confident he will do really well for us."
Both Habergham and Dawkin will be included in the squad for tomorrow's friendly at Long Melford.
