....United travelling to face Binfield, who themselves were coming off the back of a good weekend result.

Marlow won 2-1 with goals from Jamie Piercy and Danny Lingwood. Ian Davies scored for Binfield.

Tuesday saw a host of fixtures with early season leaders Slimbridge travelling to bottom club Reading Town and returning to Gloucestershire with three points following a 2-0 win with goals from Chris Fower and Shaun O’ Connor.

Highworth Town got over their bad day at the office last Saturday by beating Cheltenham Saracens 4-1, whom themselves had hit seven in their previous match.

Scorers for the Worthians were Bradley Clarke, Liam Williams and Richie Saunders (2). Ethan Moore replied for Saracens.

Kidlington got their season up and running with their first win, defeating Flackwell Heath 2-1 with goals from Jordan Parker and Ryan Curtin (pen). Louis Cordice was on target for Flackwell Heath.

Top goalscorers on the evening were Newbury, who trounced Abingdon Town 9-1. There were hat-tricks for Ray Spence and Darren Jones, with other goals being scored by Jamie Green, Carl Jenner and Chris Collin. Tom Larman scored for Abingdon Town.

Holyport put three past Shrivenham without reply with goals from Jamie West, Sam Jones and Stuart Butler, Ardley United beat Thame United 2-1 with a late winner from Ben Thomas, Earlier on, Nik Rhodes had opened the scoring for Thame that was cancelled out by George Redknap.

Ascot United recorded their first league win of the season with a narrow 1-0 win over Highmoor Ibis with David Hoar scoring the goal.

Wantage Town kept in touch at the top of the table with a 4-1 win at Wokingham & Emmbrook. Tom Rowe (2), Richard Claydon and McMahon were on target for Wantage with Sam Duffelen scored for Wokingham & Embrook.

In an eagerly-awaited match, Oxford City Nomads were held 1-1 at home by Witney Town in front of a good attendance of 129, James Dobson opened the scoring for Witney from the penalty spot and Rhys Denton equalised for Nomads on the stroke of half-time. Witney spurned the chance to bag all the points by missing a 2nd half penalty.

In Division One West, Fairford Town became the first club this season to lower the colours of the previously rampant Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Fairford won the match with two first half goals from Dan Bailey and Nathan Gambling. Lee Pritchard pulled one back for Brimscombe in the second half, but Fairford held on to go fourth in the table.

Wootton Bassett took full advantage of the Brimscombe slip to go top with a 4-1 win over Clanfield.

Steve Yeardley, Mark Barnes (2) and Liam Edmondson scored for Bassett with Steve Olphert scoring for Clanfield.

In Division One East, Maidenhead United Reserves went joint top on points of Division One East with Rayners Lane having inflicted a first defeat of the season on Hellenic League newcomers AFC Hinksey in a seven-goal thriller. Ashley Watson (2), Jonathon Hippolyte and Kyle Lucas all scored for Maidenhead with Marlon James and Anaclet Odihambo (2) on target for AFC Hinksey.

Headington Amateurs were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Chinnor. Dan Stone scored very early on for Chinnor with Benji Cuff replying for Headington well into the second half.
