....pacesetters Spalding United lost 3-1 at home to St Ives Town, who take over at the top.

Conor Washington opened the scoring after 17 minutes with a shot which deflected off Miles Chamberlain and 2 minutes later Jon Stead added a second from the penalty spot.

Francis Green put the Tulips back in the contest from close range after 48 minutes but Washington’s seventh goal of the season 4 minutes past the hour sealed the visiting victory.

Holbeach United are also on nine points after a 3-0 home win over Stewarts & Lloyds with Andy Tidswell, Sam Mulready and Tommy Treacher sharing the goals.

Newport Pagnell Town saw off reigning champions Long Buckby 3-0 at Willen Road with Daren Dykes, Dom Lawless and Jared Cunniff all on the scoresheet.

The two clubs relegated from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League both enjoyed big home wins.

Shepshed Dynamo beat Blackstones 4-0 with all the goals scored in the second half by Ryan Perkins, Liam Fitzpatrick, Kieran Davies and Rob Mulonga, while Quorn trounced Irchester United 8-2 at Farley Way.

Kris Nurse led the way with a hat-trick, there were two goals for Tyrone Kirk and one apiece for Nathan Watson, Lee Sutton and Danny Marshall - the Romans replying through Barry McKenna and Zondi Chunga.

Alex Beck’s second half hat-trick inspired Deeping Rangers to a 4-1 derby success at Yaxley, who led at the break through Ondre Odain. Simon Ashton was the other Rangers’ marksman.

Cogenhoe United ended Peterborough Northern Star’s winning start edging a Chestnut Avenue thriller 4-3.

Two Lewis Leslie goals, one from the spot, plus singles from Josh Urquhart and Darren Frost gave the Cooks the points with Wayne Morris, new signing Callum Reed and Danny Escorsio the Star marksmen.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds top Division One after a 3-0 success at fellow new boys Harrowby United, who are still without a point.

Alfie Taylor’s brace - the first a penalty - and a debut goal from veteran midfielder Jamie Gilsenan gave Diamonds victory.

Morning leaders Eynesbury Rovers lost 4-3 at home to ON Chenecks, whose win was their first at Hall Road in twelve attempts.

Two Lee Bradley goals and one apiece from Calvin Budd and manager Graham Cottle made it seven points from nine for Chenecks with Jack Weeden, Ben Cole and James Freshwater on the mark for Rovers.

Goal hungry Oadby Town won 5-2 at Bourne Town with Jon Stevenson, two-goal Michael Reeve, Jake Duffy and Ollie Brown-Hill netting for the Poachers and Alex Brockbank and Tom Coldicott replying for the Wakes.

Sileby Rangers also made it six points out of six with a 4-1 success at Olney Town.

Phil Cassidy, Steve Blackwood and two-goal Jake Newman scored for Rangers, Steve Watson the home marksman.

Whitworth also have maximum points from two matches after a 3-0 home defeat of Burton Park Wanderers.

Jedd Whiteman’s own goal and Kris Line’s spot-kick had the Flourmen two goals to the good at the break with Cavell Jarvis completing the scoring.

Potton United were 2-0 home winners over Raunds Town, thanks to a Sam Worthington brace towards the end of the first half, while Craig Harrower and James Harrison gave Rushden & Higham United a 2-1 verdict at Wootton Blue Cross, who were first on the scoresheet through Courtney Boughton.

Buckingham Town picked up their first win, beating Northampton Spencer 3-2 at Manor Fields.

Two Nick Bines goals and one from Ben Shepherd gave the Robins the points with Tomasz Mikutel and Ashley Simpson replying as Spencer fought back.
