Tommy Treacher

.....lead at the top with a 5-1 victory at next-to-bottom Wellingborough Town on Saturday.

Tommy Treacher and Jonny Allen scored two apiece for the Tigers with Andy Tidswell taking his season’s tally to twenty-one, Jason Taylor scoring a debut reply for the Doughboys.

Peterborough Northern Star unveiled Blackstones duo Michael Goode and Darren Jarvis as their new joint-managers and followed up with a 2-1 home win over Stewarts & Lloyds who fielded just ten-men.

Liam Boath gave the Foundrymen the lead early on but goals from Andy Furnell and Matt Cox won the points for Star.

Yaxley and Boston Town drew 1-1 at In2Itive Park with Ricky Hailstone and Matt Barber the respective marksmen, while Sleaford Town eased further clear of the drop zone as an early Tony Edwards header gave them a 1-0 home win over Long Buckby in a match which saw both sides reduced to ten-men.

Ollie Brown-Hill scored a first half hat-trick for the Poachers, whose other marksmen were debutant Nick Pollard, Jake Duffy and two-goal Jon Stevenson.

There were two notable scoring feats in Lincolnshire. The division’s top scorer Martin Wormall took his season’s total to seventeen goals with all four as Harrowby United ran out 4-1 winners over Whitworth, who replied through Leigh Chapman, but that tally was bettered by Alec Robinson’s five-goal haul for Bourne Town in a 7-1 Abbey Lawn defeat of Wootton Blue Cross.

Ben Easson and Scott Spearink completed the Wakes tally with Courtney Boughton the Blue Cross scorer.

Potton United beat Molten Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Langford 4-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy.
