"This is very good news for the club and shows how keen we are to progress." Rogers, who is 57, played for Bristol City, Exeter City, Bath City and Weymouth, before going into management. He was boss of Tiverton Town for twenty years before quitting in May of 2010. Robinson added: "Martyn has had two years out of the game and comes to us very refreshed." Rogers takes over from Jaimie Carwardine, who only joined Taunton in July but has been forced to step down for "personal reasons." Carwardine will rejoin Taunton as a third member of the club's management team later in the season.
