Vastly Experienced Winger Joins Aber
Andy Parkinson

....Welsh Premier club Aberystwyth Town.

The 32-year-old Liverpudlian started his career as a trainee at Liverpool, playing in the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 1996, before joining Tranmere Rovers, where he scored eighteen goals from 164 appearances and featured in the 2000 Football League Cup Final.

He played his final game for the Wirral club in March 2003 and moved to Sheffield United but struggled to break into the first team on a regular basis and was signed by Notts County for two separate loan spells before being released from Bramall Lane in May 2004.

One of Russell Slade's first signings as Grimsby Town manager, he partnered Michael Reddy up-front for the Mariners and was top scorer with nine league goals in 2004/05.

After making eighty-five appearances Parkinson rejected a fresh contract in the summer of 2006 and opted to return to Notts County and remained at Meadow Lane for two seasons before being released.

A successful spell at Cambridge United was interrupted by an anterior crutiate ligament injury and he went on to make twenty-seven starts before signing for Gateshead and then Accrington Stanley. The Seasiders have also announced that midfielder Ricky Evans has agreed a new deal with the club.
