.....manager as he wishes to take a year out of football due to increased business commitments and former Horsham stalwart John Maggs has agreed to step up to replace him.
The Anvils have made it clear that Guirey will be welcome back at the club in some capacity in a year’s time or when his business commitments allow.
Chairman Brian Suckling is delighted the vastly experienced Maggs, who was assistant to Guirey, has accepted the challenge of leading the club forward.
Suckling said: “Darren is taking a year out due to business reasons but we are looking forward to the time he is able to come back and be involved with us again. Darren is a superb manager. He has brought the club untold success in the three years he has been with us. This is not goodbye but farewell for now.
“We are in a very fortunate position to have John Maggs. He is universally accepted as a great manager and we are privileged to have him with us.”
Coaches Ian Payne and Rob Frankland will remain as part of the management team.
