Ward Hails Brannan Impact

...impact of former Leek Town midfielder Steve Brannan.

Brannan joined Kidsgrove after playing for Biddulph Victoria and Alsager Town last season and already has five goals to his name.

Ward said: "He has a big part to play. It was time for Steve to settle down.

"He had pre-season with us and got his head down. He does not miss training and appears to be enjoying his football."

Brannan has often made more of an impact coming off the bench than starting a game, but he played the full game in last week's FA Cup tie against Gornal Athletic and scored in a 3-0 win.

Ward said: "Steve needs to be more consistent over 90 minutes week in, week out because there is a lot of pressure on our wide players.

"I have a choice between Brannan, Danny Griggs and Tom Urwin, while Aaron Carter will add to the competition."

The signing of Carter, from Nantwich Town, is dragging its heels, but Ward believes he could be included in the squad at home to Hucknall Town today.
