Ward Strengthens Grove
Peter Ward

....clash with Newcastle Town at the Seddon Stadium on Boxing Day.

Manager Peter Ward has completed the signing of left-back Jez Mulholland from league rivals Sutton Coldfield Town, and he joined the squad for training this week. Ward said: "I was speaking to one or two managers and Jez's name cropped up.

"Sutton Coldfield have made him available because he needs games after breaking his arm in a pre-season friendly."

Mulholland spent ten years associated with West Bromwich Albion before Sutton Coldfield signed him.

His arrival at Kidsgrove will allow Ward to switch Craig Dove from left-back to midfield.

Ward is also working to bring in a forward on loan, and with Mark Beeston back from injury his squad is showing more depth.

But Andy Taylor is suspended, while a late decision will be made on the fitness of striker Andy Kinsey, who has missed Grove's last seven games.

Ward added: "We have two big games coming up against Newcastle Town and Leek Town, two sides who are in better form than us.

"We have not been playing badly, but we have failed to put away our chances."
