Sholing made it two cup wins in three days with victory over Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) rivals Team Solent at St Mary’s to lift the Southampton Senior Cup for a ninth time.
In an entertaining game, Dan Mason gave the Boatmen the lead before being quickly pegged back by Tyrell Mitford’s equaliser.
The game turned 5 minutes into the second half when the referee awarded Sholing a penalty that Lee Wort scored and then Jamel Wiseman was red-carded for Solent.
Micky Hubbard killed the game off on 66 minutes by firing in the third from distance.
Meanwhile, nearby at Havant & Waterlooville, AFC Portchester beat Wessex rivals Bemerton Heath Harlequins on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the Russell Cotes Cup.
Andrew Todd and Joe Noakes had given Portchester a 2-0 lead but Jack Slade and Richard Jackson scored to claw back the deficit for Harlequins.
Portchester kept their nerve to triumph 7-6 in the penalty shoot-out.
