....Division One South & West rivals Bridgwater Town.
Bridgwater chairman Alan Hurford admitted: "I have spoken to Paul.
“I have been in conversation with him but I have nothing else to add." West was given his marching orders for the "disappointing" results of the first team. However, clearly upset by the decision, he said at the time he was "building a club for the future" by improving the youth set-up at the club rather than concentrating on first team results.
Bridgwater, who also sacked their boss Rob Dray in March, are now jointly-managed by Dave Pople and Kevin Milsom. Hurford added: "Dave and Kev are in the process of putting their plans together for next season. "After a difficult couple of seasons we could be up and running this time." Bridgwater, however, have already lost players since the season has ended. Former Bristol City youngster Danny Wring and defender Ollie Barnes have moved to Division One South & West rivals Yate Town. And Matt Pitcher and Peter Monks are expected to join Blue Square Bet South side Weston-super-Mare who are managed by Craig Laird, who was previously in charge at Bridgwater.
Bridgwater have been talking to potential new players and are expected to make an announcement over the next week. West was popular with his players at Taunton and there is talk that some of them would follow him to another club. Taunton are now managed by Leigh Robinson, who was chosen from a short list of five candidates only ten days ago.
