....victory over last season’s runners-up Gornal Athletic on Saturday.

David Meese gave Gornal an early lead, but Rangers roared back to bag the points. Alec Roberts and Steve Bowers both scored a brace of goals apiece with Jason Wood adding his name to the Rangers score sheet. Ravi Sangha netted for Gornal.

AFC Wulfrunians - one of the title favourites - made a pleasing start with a 2-0 win over newcomers Pegasus Juniors, the Hereford-based side having switched from the Uhlsport Hellenic League.

Robin Sheffield rifled Wulfs into a 9th minute lead before Simeon Ritchie settled the issue 12 minutes from time.

New-look Bustleholme made an impressive start with an emphatic 4-0 win at neighbours Darlaston Town, thanks to goals from Seb Craven, Danny Snell, Matthew Simmons and Conor Deeley-Brewer.

Darlaston didn’t help matters by having John Cordy sent-off in the second half.

Matthew Bailey netted both Cradley Town goals in a 2-1 win at arch rivals Dudley Sports. They led 2-0 at half-time before Craig Tibbetts replied for Sports in the second half.

Goals from Jim Jackson and Jordan Lee gave Wolverhampton-based Good-rich a 2-0 win against Dudley Town, though Dudley didn’t help themselves when Ben Stretton fired a second half penalty wide of the mark.

Bewdley Town snapped up a 2-0 success at Stafford Town. Richard Burgess gave them the lead from a Danny Flowers cross and Chris Hough added a second.

Wolves Casuals produced a cracking 4-1 win over much-fancied Lye Town.

Mark Habbershaw hit home twice for Casuals whilst Craig Love and Tom Maydew were also on target after Ashley Greenaway had supplied Lye’s lonely goal.

Relegated Malvern Town managed a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Sporting Community while promoted Sporting Khalsa secured a 3-0 success at Bromyard Town.
