.....manager Ray Turner is expecting plenty more to follow.

Former Margate player Wilson arrives with plenty of experience in the Ryman League, while Turner is hoping by the end of this week to have secured a large majority of his squad for next season.

He said: “We can’t sit still. There are plenty of good players out there and some good young ones.

“I am not worried about young players coming in because they can do a job.

“We need a balance of youth and experience and Wayne will help us as he has good knowledge.

“I should have a squad of fifteen-sixteen by the end of the week.”

Striker Adrian Stone and defender James Peacock have signed up for next season. More players from last season’s squad were expected to follow suit.

Turner hopes that one of his new signings will be a goalkeeper, as the uncertainty over last season’s first choice number one Rob French remains.

French was approached by Whitstable Town several weeks ago but no compensation fee has been agreed.

Turner said: “He isn’t going anywhere until compensation is agreed and that’s if he even wants to go.”
