Evo-Stik League

...Lincoln City in Saturday’s pre-season clash and, according to boss Kevin Wilson, it was a very enlightening experience.
City, who were relegated to the Football Conference at the end of last season, came flying out of the traps with their new-look side and established a two-goal lead inside the opening 15 minutes.
They added two more on either side of half time and although it was a generally disappointing afternoon for the Robins, Wilson believes it more than served its purpose.
He explained: “We planned all along to play with a 4-3-3 formation in the first half and then switch to 4-4-2 and I think we all learned a lot from the exercise.
“I’m sure that I don’t have to remind people that Lincoln were in the Football League last season while we had an Academy team. It would be very naïve to think that everything is going to suddenly slot into place and if anyone did think that, they now know differently.
“Now is the time to find out what works and what doesn’t - and I don’t just mean tactically. We’re still finding out about individuals as well, and we’ll continue to do so over the next few weeks.”
