....the position of first-team manager.

Morrison joins the Blues after a couple of successful seasons with Flixton, taking them from near bottom of the league to a top ten finish last season, but looked as though he was heading for league rivals St Helens Town before deciding against it at the last minute.

Assistant secretary Steve Wrighth said: "Lloyd has experience in non-League football stretching over more than ten years, both as a player and eventually moving on to management.

"Lloyd has built up a well-respected reputation for himself and made many good contacts in the NWCFL area. He is looking forward to working with Kevin Bircumshaw, who is staying with us for another season, and will meet the players in the coming week.

"Along with the players from last season, Lloyd believes he can bring in enough quality players to make us a serious contender for next season's title."
