Defender Deeney, 21, is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He was arrested with three other men after a 20-year-old from Selly Oak suffered a broken jaw outside Broad Street’s Bliss nightclub on Wednesday, February 29th.
The former captain of Aston Villa’s youth team, who led them out in the 2010 FA Youth Cup final loss to Chelsea, had brief spells at Kettering Town and Hinckley United before joining the St George’s Lane side in January.
The left-back has made sixteen starts and one substitute appearance for the Blue Square Bet North team.
His brother Troy, 23, who was also released by Villa as a youngster and currently plays for npower Championship outfit Watford, faces a charge of affray and is also charged with assaulting a police officer.
Two other men were also arrested in connection with the incident and have been charged with affray. They are all currently on police bail. Worcester manager Carl Heeley said the club was aware of an alleged incident but was not in a position to comment further because it was “not privy to the facts”.
He said a statement would be made in due course if it was deemed necessary.
Deeney is currently on a part-time contract until the end of the season, with City playing their final game at home to Workington on Saturday.
