Blue Square Bet North club Oxford City have signed striker Jacob Walcott from Evo-Stik League Southern Division One….

….South & West neighbours North Leigh.

Former England under-16 and under-17 international Walcott began his career with Reading, turning professional in 2010.

Whilst with the Royals he had a loan spell with Conference South side Staines Town, where he made five appearances.

He moved on loan to Dutch outfit Telstar in January 2011, scoring two goals in fourteen appearances in the Eerste Divisie.

He went on trial with another Dutch side, FC Utrecht, in January 2012 and later that year, he trialled with Stevenage FC after it had been announced that he was being released by Reading.

Nothing came of that trial so he joined North Leigh, for whom he made five appearances.

He is a distant relative of Arsenal and England star Theo.
