Hallmark Security League Premier Division club Squires Gate have announced the signing of winger/attacking midfielder Max Rothwell to The Brian Addison Stadium.

Rothwell will be a familiar face to Gate fans having previously played for the club in the 2013/14 season before heading to London for a job change.

He has now moved back to the area and has committed to helping Gate end the season strongly.

The former Chorley, Lancaster City and Kendal Town man has been continuing to play football in London and has played for Fisher FC in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division and Croydon FC this season.

On his new arrival manager Danny Penswick said: I’m delighted to be able to bolster the squad with the singing of Max Rothwell.

“Max shouldn’t need an introduction to Gate fans, he’s been here before and will make us a better team. Recently playing down South with Croydon, he made it to the last 16 of the Buildbase FA Vase this season. Combine that with his past experience at clubs like Lancaster and Kendal and that gives you a flavour of what he’ll bring to the table. His energy and attacking flair will bring a new dimension to the team and I can’t wait to see him in the blue of Squires Gate.

“I’m a massive fan and have been after him for some time so I’m delighted that he’s committed to Gate for the rest of the season”.
