Baris Northern Counties East League club Scarborough Athletic and non-League football in Yorkshire are in mourning…..

…..following the death of one of the areas former managers this week.

Brian France, who had also previously managed North Ferriby United, passed away earlier this week.

Brian played a major role in building the foundations of Scarborough Athletic and led them to promotion from Division One into the Premier Division in his second season with the club.

But sadly, he never recovered from the day he was struck by a football in a freak incident during a match at Liversedge in September 2010, causing a brain haemorrhage.

Sincere condolences to Brian’s family and friends.

Brian’s funeral takes place at Halternprice Crematorium, Willerby, HU10 6NS on Thursday, 20th December at 2.15pm.
