Stafford Rangers forward Josh Gordon is set for a dream move to Champions League Quarter-finalists Leicester City in the next few days, writes Richard Scott.
Gordon who was at Stoke City for eight years as a youngster is leading scoring for the Boro this season having netted 11 goals since his arrival from local rivals Nantwich Town FC earlier this season, although he hasn’t featured for Neil Kitching’s men in their last three league games.
The former Rushall Olympic manager told the Express and Star: “It’s been sorted as we speak.
“Agents are going through the paperwork as we speak and it should be completed in the next 48 hours or so.”
Gordon had spent time at the Premier League champions earlier this year and featured in their under 23s team against Nottingham
Forest, where he impressed the coaching staff.
The 23-year old use to play in the same Newcastle Town team as Cohen Bramall who recently bagged a sensational move to Arsenal in January.
He told Pitchero Non-league in February after interest from East Midlands side Derby County: “I’ve only heard a few bits but at the end of the day I’m at Stafford Rangers and the most important thing is getting results for Stafford and making sure we get in the playoffs which are still achievable.
“Until I hear any different I will concentrate on what we are doing.”
“From what I’m aware it’s only interest. But I don’t deal with those types of things as I leave that to be done behind doors. But we will have to see what will happen.”
