Toolstation Western League Division One club Bishop Sutton`s secretary Malcolm Hunt was busy with manager Scott Armstrong trying to get the paperwork through for two new signings ahead of last Friday`s deadline.
Craig Parsons and Jack Hargreaves were both signed in time for inclusion for Saturday`s 3-2 home defeat to Chippenham Park, although only Parsons made the squad in the end.
Winger Parsons re-joins the club from Western Premier Division strugglers Bitton AFC.
He left the Lakside ground for Bitton back in October but struggled to settle.
Sutton have also added young midfielder Jack Hargreaves to the squad.
Hargreaves has recently been playing in the Hallmarks Security League for Barnsoldwick Town.
He has also featured for Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North side Clitheroe.
On completion of his football scholarship in the United States, Hargreaves has moved down to Bristol through his job.
Manager Scott Armstrong said: “We went into the day not intending on signing any players. However, this quickly changed when I became alerted to the availability of both lads.
“Craig was a player who I was disappointed to lose before Christmas, but I can’t stand in anyone’s way if they want to chance their luck at a higher level.
“Craig will give us natural width and pace to expose opposition defences. With the move for Craig it’s a chance for both parties to look at each other before next season. I’d also like to thank John Langdon for getting the form sorted at Bitton AFC in time.
“Jack is a player of good pedigree and approached myself having played with a few of my mates at Barnsoldswick. I’m interested to see how he settles with the squad and will look at him ahead of next season”.
