Eadie Leaves Hawks For Saints

Vanarama National League South club St Albans City have followed up the signing of defender Harold Joseph from Enfield Town with left-back Layne Eadie from another Ryman League Premier Division outfit, Harlow Town.

The Saints announced the arrival of 22-year-old former Barnet, Stevenage, Wingate & Finchley and Hayes & Yeading United defender Joseph last week.

And he`s now been joined by Eadie, who joins after a three-year spell with the Hawks.

Eadie, 23, is an energetic left-back who has twice been in the Ryman League team of the year and has impressed during his time with Harlow, winning various club awards.

Manager Ian Allinson said: “I saw Layne play three or four times last season and I was very impressed in his performance and work rate. I have also spoken to various managers at Ryman League level and they all believe he is one of the best left-backs in the league. I’m delighted to get this deal across the line as i know there were other clubs trying to sign Layne.”

Eadie had a spell with the Saints back in 2012, he then departed to play regular first-team football in 2013.
