Ebac Northern League First Division club Morpeth Town have continued their impressive summer recruitment with the addition of experienced defender Richard Pell from Vanarama National League North newcomers Blyth Spartans.

The 34-year-old was part of the Spartans squad that made the Third Round of FA Cup in 2008/09, beating AFC Bournemouth and Shrewsbury Town on their way to a tie against Blackburn Rovers.

Pell spent time with Alfreton Town, Evo-Stik League Premier side Whitby Town and Morpeth`s league rivals Bedlington Terriers before returning to the Northumberland outfit in June 2016.

Pell joins fellow new signings defenders Curtis Coppen, who joined in a swap deal with North Shields involving Paul Robinson, and Danny Carson and midfielder Wayne Phillips from South Shields, as well as midfielder Luke Carr from Aussie side Holland Park Hawks.
