Evo-Stik League Premier club Matlock Town have announced the signing of 32-year-old striker Shaun Harrad on a one-year deal.

Harrad began his career at Notts County, making twenty-nine appearances and scoring one goal against Shrewsbury Town.

He enjoyed loan spells out at Gresley Rovers and Tamworth, before being released by the Magpies in 2005.

He joined Burton Albion in 2005, gaining promotion to the Football League with the Brewers in 2009, scoring 16 goals in the promotion season.

Since then he has played for Alfreton Town, Notts County, Torquay United, Wrexham before he re-joined Torquay until the end of last season.

Harrad started for the Gladiators in the pre-season friendly defeat to Chesterfield as well as the victory against Mansfield Town where he scored two goals.

He has recently set up his own coaching school based in Nottingham, so wanted a club nearer home.
