Gavin Rose has revealed he is only looking to sign “one or two” more players as he prepares his squad for another Isthmian League season.
It’s the Bostik Premier for Dulwich Hamlet again in August. Another cruel playoff defeat, this time to Bognor, means they must wait for promotion into the Vanarama National League South.
Rose hasn’t been very busy on the transfer front, unlike some other clubs in their division.
Just two new faces have arrived – Anthony Acheampong and Ricky Hales.
It seems that Hamlet supporters awaiting an influx of more new players may be in for a surprise.
“I think we’re nearly done,” confirmed Rose, manager since 2009. “I didn’t think we would need an overhaul this summer and we’ve not had one.
“I’ve got a lot of confidence in the players so it was never really in my mind to make wholesale changes. We weren’t too far away last year again, but our playoff curse struck.”

That means there’s only a little bit of business still to be done.
“We won’t rush into the new signing as it could be our last,” the manager said. “We’ll probably sign one more, maybe two. We’ll see how we’re shaping up.
“We’ve kept the majority of the squad and that’s a plus point because it shows that my players believe we’re heading in the right direction.”
Hamlet begin their pre season preparation at Beckenham Town on July 11th before a game at Lewes.
