Southern Counties East League Premier Division club Canterbury City’s management team opened even more eyes with the signing of experienced ‘keeper Jack Delo from neighbours Herne Bay.
Delo had played 400 games for Ryman League Division One South side Herne Bay and had won many accolades there and at Ramsgate and Folkestone Invict prior to that.
The departure of Daren Hawkes to Sittingbourne, could have been a difficult situation for City as he had had an impressive season, but the signing of Delo has caused quite a stir among local non-League fans.
Canterbury manager Ben Smith said: “I think this signing speaks for itself really and says all you need to know about our ambitions as Jack’s been one of the top keepers in this area for a long time now.
“It’s a great coup for us to get him on board as, aside from his qualities on the pitch, his experience and leadership qualities in the dressing room will be invaluable to the group”.
