Attacking midfielder Lewis Wing has completed his move from Ebac Northern League First Division club Shildon to Sky Ben Championship side Middlesbrough.
Wing signed for Shildon for the 2015/16 season from Seaham Red Star where he was named runner-up Northern League young player of the year after scoring 22 goals.
The 22-year-old, who scored 37 goals last season, won the Bob Moreland young player of the year at the recent Annual Northern League Awards.
He joins on a one-year contract after signing a pre-contract agreement in March and will link up with Boro’s under-23s.
Middlesbrough`s academy manager Craig Liddle said: “We’re delighted to welcome Lewis to the club.
“He’s an exciting player who arrives on the back of an impressive season, and we look forward to seeing how he can develop here at Boro.”
Middlesbrough will play Shildon in a pre-season friendly on July 18th as part of the deal.
