Nantwich Town have signed striker Vinny Mukendi after leaving Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division Hednesford Town yesterday.
Mukendi is no stranger to the Weaver Stadium having played briefly under previous manager Danny Johnson.
The giant 6`7” front man was impressed with Nantwich after their recent game at Hednesford Town a few weeks ago and left the Pitmen yesterday after finding the commute from Manchester to training and games too challenging.
Mukendi started his career at Macclesfield Town, but has spent time with a number different clubs over the last eight years.
He signed for Hednesford shortly before Christmas and scored 4 goals in eight appearances.
He returns to the Dabbers after playing for them during the 2014/15 season, where he managed 2 goals.
After coming in on short notice and taking part in training, Mukendi wants to be part of the special team and believes he can contribute to the club’s success this season.
Manager Phil Parkinson has said about the signing: “I feel Vinny could give us a different dimension when other teams come up against Nantwich and park the bus. He will give us another option if the game doesn’t go to plan”.
