Midland League Premier Division newcomers Worcester City have signed locally-based midfielder Nathan Hayward.

The 25-year-old began his career as a trainee at Birmingham City and has gone onto play for Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch United, Stourbridge, Westfields, Stourport Swifts and most recently, Malvern Town.

Joint-managers John Snape and Lee Hughes believe they have signed a player with “a good pedigree and a player who will give his all from the first until the last minute”.

On signing for the club, Hayward said: “I spoke to Snapper and Lee with in regards to joining my home-town club and jumped at the opportunity when it was given to me”.
