Midland League Premier Division club Bromsgrove Sporting have secured the signature of highly-rated central defender Dan Preston from Evo-Stik League South Premier side Hereford FC.

Preston has only made six starts for The Bulls since his arrival in August.

The deal will see The Bulls retain the 26-year-old`s registration, and the former Birmingham City academy player will remain available to them when required.

With Ahmed Ali arriving back to the club in the near future, another defender was the last position Sporting boss Paul Smith was looking for to strengthen the side heading in to a very busy second half of the season.

On the new signing, Smith told the club`s official website: “Dan is a no-nonsense, strong, dominant defender that has played at a very good level. He fits the bill perfectly. I must thank Pete Beadle at Hereford for helping me push the deal through.”

Preston should be available for tomorrow’s fixture against Stourport Swifts.
