Ryman League Premier Division club Tonbridge Angels have signed experienced defender Craig Stone from Vanarama National League South side Eastbourne Borough.

A regular member of the Borough’s defensive back line with a 90% appearance rate last season, 28-year-old Stone has also enjoyed promotion winning spells with Dover Athletic and Ebbsfleet United, having started his footballing career with Gillingham.

Angels Boss, Steve McKimm said: “Craig brings a wealth of experience with him and is an important acquisition for the club. He keeps himself exceptionally fit and can play anywhere across the back line. I am very pleased to have obtained his services and welcome him to the club.”

Meqnahile, goalkeeper Anthony di Bernardo and striker Tashi-Jay Kwayie have both pledged their immediate futures with Tonbridge for next season.

McKimm said: “I’m delighted to have secured the services of both these players for the coming campaign. Tony is a big player for us in every sense of the word and will come back from his injury stronger, while Tashi can continue his development as an exciting young striker who will only get better”.
