Salford City striker Jack Redshaw thinks the Ammies can go on to great success this season but knows the club are there to be shot at.
Redshaw, who signed from Rochdale in the summer, believes teams are gunning for them in the Vanarama National League North.
Because of the profile of the Class of 92, the club’s owners, sides are more up for the challenge of getting one over Salford, suggests Redshaw.
But if they continue to combat that, he sees no reason why the joint leaders can’t go on to win the league.
“We are a club with great ambitions, everyone knows that,” said the striker whose team beat Gainsborough Trinity at the weekend.
“Everybody knows where Salford want to be. It’s exciting to be part of it. I think the pressure is on us every game to keep performing well but it certainly helps when you’ve got such a quality squad with strength in all areas.”
“Every club raises their game when they play Salford – it’s the team everybody wants to beat, he added.
“But I see that as a good thing because we know we can’t take our guard down at any time.”
