Spennymoor’s manager Jason Ainsley joked that both his side and FC United could have had half a dozen goals each last night!
His team beat the Red Rebels 3-2 away from home, the second fantastic result against a Manchester club in four days.
On Saturday, the Moors won 1-0 against Stockport and the boss can’t quite believe the start the club have enjoyed to their first ever season at this level.
“It could have been 7-6 or 6-6,” he said. “It was a great advert for the league. To come to this great stadium and put in a performance is delightful.
“”If that’s the standard of football each week then you’re in for a treat!” Ainsley to fans on the club’s website. “I thought it was an end-to-end game, every time we went forward I thought we were going to score.”
There are more tests around the corner for the club, Spennymoor travel to Boston United this weekend looking to make it three in a row.
