Dean Keates says Wrexham’s defeat at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club Nantwich Town was unacceptable to him.
The Red Dragons manager didn’t hide behind excuses as the team’s preparation for the new season was set back by a 1-0 loss to the Dabbers, pictured here.
“Overall it was nowhere near good enough,” said the manager.
“We were a little better in the second half, but when you look at it as a whole we’ve got to produce better than that.
"The mentality of this football club is to win matches. Obviously there was a little bit of a reaction, but not good enough."

“I’ve got to be honest and say the first half performance was nowhere near the level of what we expect.
“Fair play to Nantwich, but the mentality to this football club is to win matches and we were well off it for most of the game.”
Wrexham face Macclesfield Town in the opening match of the National League season on the 5th of August.
Keates has impressed with his summer signings but called on them to improve standards in their remaining pre-season games.
