Evo-Stik League Premier club Stafford Rangers signed two new players ahead of the Ashton United game on Saturday.

Alex Fletcher, a 20-year-old central midfielder, has joined from Vanarama National League North side Southport and Niall Flint, also 20, a midfielder, arrived from league rivals Matlock Town.

Fletcher joined Southport in June having spent last season at Newtown in the Welsh Premier.

Having started his youth career at Shrewsbury Town, he has also gained experience at Scottish outfit Ross County and at AFC Telford United.

Flint joined Matlock from Sutton Coldfield Town in September.

He also began his career with Shrewsbury before making the move to Telford and while with the Bucks, had a short-term loan with Market Drayton Town.

A move to link up with a former manager saw him join Scarborough Athletic in February 2016 where he would do enough to impress and earn a move to Sutton Coldfield.
