Experienced striker Cliff Akurang has departed Ryman League Premier Division Leiston to join…
….Vanarama Conference South club Hayes & Yeading United.
After moving to Victory Road in the summer, Akurang made nine league appearances, scoring 3 goals.
After starting out as a youngster on the books at Chelsea and Luton Town, Akurang has Football League experience with Barnet, for whom he scored 10 goals in forty-five appearances, and has also featured for the likes of Hitchin Town, Thurrock, Heybridge Swifts, Histon, Maidenhead United, Braintree Town, Chelmsford City, Boreham Wood and Bishop`s Stortford during a nomadic career.
Both parties reached an amicable decision midweek to allow Akurang to depart and seek another club which he has done so in signing for Hayes & Yeading.
Joining Akurang at Hayes & Yeading is attacking midfielder Louis-Rae Beadle from league rivals Staines Town and goalkeeper Grant Smith, who comes in as cover for Calum Kitscha with Alex Lynch returning to Wycombe Wanderers at the end of his short-term loan.
Beadle, 24, is an attacking midfielder who was somewhat surprisingly released by Staines, having clocked up over 100 appearances for them.
He started out with Hampton & Richmond Borough before joining the Swans for the 2012/13 season where he became an influential member of Marcus Gayle`s side.
Twenty-year-old Smith came through the youth ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion and last season impressed in the Ryman Premier whilst on loan at Bognor Regis Town but was released by the Seagulls at the end of the season.
